Ease of Use & User Experience
Using InstaHeadshots is simple. It’s an online software that you can use with your browser.
Perhaps the biggest struggle is finding real images of yourself that meet the criteria. That’s because your images must be clear, well-lit, with no other people in the background, etc.
Prepare to spend a good 10-20 minutes finding those on your mobile camera roll. Or then take a bunch of selfies in different lights and clothes.
Anyways, here’s how you can create your InstaHeadshots AI headshots:
- Take a couple of selfies.
- Sign up to InstaHeadshots.
- Upload the selfies.
- Answer a couple of questions.
- Wait for about an hour.
- Get your AI headshots.
This is an online software, so you don’t need to install anything.
That means you also don’t need to wait for the AI headshots to generate because it takes place remotely on InstaHeadshots servers.
This service will send you an email once your headshots are ready. So you don’t need to wait for the results to generate!
Attention! One thing that confused me was the watermarks on the paid headshots.
Yes, there appears to be a watermark in the headshots you paid.
But worry not, because this goes away if you download your headshots.
The reason there’s a watermark is to protect customers.
If you check your headshots and aren’t satisfied, you can get a refund while the team can be sure you’re not using the headshots for free.
If you download the images, that signals the team that the headshots are good and you’re not asking for a refund.

In fact, this makes InstaHeadshots one of my favorite AI headshot generators I’ve tested.
The only downside is that a small portion of the images can be slightly morphed, and you might have some issues with your teeth, lips, and fingers.
Also, from time to time, the stare is a bit blank.
Furthermore, this tool doesn’t let you customize the headshots, which is one of the reasons this is not my absolute favorite tool.
Customization & Style Options
Unfortunately, InstaHeadshots doesn’t allow you to customize your images.
When it comes to creating the headshots, you can choose a bunch of styles to your images, though.
But basically, there’s no direct way to control the headshots you get. Those will always be somewhat random.
But for example, I noticed that if your inputs are mainly selfies, your headshots will mostly be selfies too. So that kind of impacts on what the results will look like.
Speed & Processing Time
This tool is a lot faster than hiring a real photographer.
Expect to spend 15-30 minutes choosing the images to send and sending them.
Then wait about 1-2 hours for the headshots to generate.
Pricing & Value for Money
InstaHeadshots is one of the most expensive AI headshot generators I’ve tested.
The cheapest plan starts at $49.
That being said, the results are good too. In fact, I would put this as one of the top 3 headshot generators I’ve ever tested.
So in that sense, the value for money is high.
But the big downside is that you can’t customize the headshots which some other tools let you do for less than $50.
But if I compare these results to free AI headshots, the difference is like night and day.
For example, here’s a free headshot:
While there’s nothing too bad about this free headshot, it’s just not at the level of the paid ones.
In this image, I look like a 3D character at a closer look.
Now, if you compare this with the paid InstaHeadshots AI headshots, you can see the difference.
This headshot actually looks like me. In fact, when I showed these paid ones to my mates they had a hard time believing it’s not a real image.

I love InstaHeadshots. The AI headshots are among the best that I’ve tried.
Rating: 4.5/5
However, it’s a bit of a pricey product. Also, there are no customization features.
